One of the most challenging aspects of sitting meditation is the lack of movement that wants to release as we slow down our minds. Often we can force ourselves into a freeze “trying” to meditate. This practice arose from the Dance Movement Therapy program at Naropa University as a way to create a continuity between sitting in meditation and moving with attention to our sensations.
We will be guided into a short basic breathing meditation which then moves with some simple prompts into moving. We go back and forth between sitting and simple movement.
Natalya Imboden is your guide. She received her undergraduate in Dance Movement Therapy from Naropa University & has been practicing Vajrayana Buddhism for 30 years under the guidance from Lama Tharchin Rinpoche, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and Anam Thubten.
